FOR THE STAGE

I write plays about people on the edge. Blending gritty naturalism with heightened theatricality, my work examines how we use humor, delusion, and memory to cope with a world that doesn't always love us back.

I think of them as “comedies of survival.” My characters fight to maintain their dignity within systems designed to strip it away, often clinging to the lies they need to keep going. I look for the nobility in the “loser” and the tragedy in the punchline, resisting tidy, sentimental solutions in favor of the complicated weight of being human.
